The 2010 RS:X Open European Windsurfing Championships starts on June 25th and runs through to July 2nd. With 70 Youth Men and 20 Youth Women entered, this 2nd edition of the RS:X Youth Europeans can claim a recrd entry.
Racers from more than 10 countries in three continents are using the event as their last chance to build fitness and experience before the ISAF Youth Worlds in Istanbul, Turkey which starts on July 11th.
Sopot, Poland is the venue for the RS:X Youth European Windsurfing Championships. Fo the organisers, the championship will be part one of a double header which also includes the RS:X European Windsurfing Champinships.
It will be a novel experience for the young windsurfers to have their prize giving in front of the Olympic stars gathered for the European Champinships. Usually they stand in the shadows as the Olympic Windsurfers bask in the limelight. This year roles will be reversed!
